PIROSKA HOLDER 1930 - 2018 It is with great sadness the family of Piroska Holder announce her passing on October 16, 2018. Born May 22, 1930 in Nyoger, Hungary, she left her homeland in 1957 during the Hungarian revolution. Two years were spent in a refugee camp in Austria before immigrating to Canada. She spent most of her life in Winnipeg except for several years on their hobby farm in St. Eustache. She leaves to mourn her loving husband John; children, Jozsef Csak (Julianna), Ferenc Csak, Tibor Csak and Erika Greenberg (Norman); stepdaughters, Elizabeth Kriening (Harold) and Conni Holder; grandchildren, Timea (Tibor), Jozsef, Erika, Alyssa (Shawn), Jordana (Patrick), Julie (Charlie), Teija, Natalie, Anya and Malissa; great-grandchildren, Fruzsina and her most recent pride and joy Drew; sisters, Margit Mondschein, Iren Havalda, Irma Kovacs; and sister-in-law Rozalia Rozmann. She was predeceased by her parents, Ottilia and Jozsef; loving brother Tibor Rozmann, brothers-in-law, Ted Mondschein and Gyula Kovacs. Piroska was very hard working and always a caregiver. Initially she provided babysitting services to a number of families. Subsequently she became a caregiver to many foster and special needs children entrusted to her care. At the same time she provided care to the elderly via home care services. Family and friends were always welcome and treated to her wonderful cooking and baking. Her generous nature made sure that you left with a care package in hand. She loved going back to Hungary to visit family and friends. Her last trip five years ago was very special to her as she was able to share the good times with her daughter Erika and granddaughter Jordana. The family would like to thank her home care workers, Elaine, Martha, Julie and Be for all their kindness and compassion. Cremation and a private family service will take place. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3P 0Y4, or CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. My mother was a lifelong friend of Piroska, her support and love to my mom was greatly appreciated. Piroska had a heart that was gold. She was one of a kind, beautiful person. I feel blessed for the privilege of knowing her. Always will remember her loving, giving nature - Posted by: Gae Rudyk (Lifelong friend of my mother ) on: Jul 14, 2019
