GWENDOLYN MARGARET GOODALL (nee MCDONALD) October 29, 1945 - October 18, 2018 Peacefully, with her daughters by her side, Gwen passed away after her five year battle with lung cancer. Left to mourn are her devoted husband Bruce; daughters, Shannon (Ian Goodall-George) and Kari; grandchildren, Kennedi and Dane; furry children, Maggie and Bailey; as well as her brother, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, close friends and extended family. Gwen was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Dorothy McDonald, her in-laws, Alf and Vicki Goodall, her nephew Todd, and niece Charlene. Born in Morden, Gwen grew up in the East Kildonan area of Winnipeg. She attended high school at Miles Macdonnell Collegiate. After school she worked in the banking industry at various branches. Gwen met and married Bruce in 1967. They resided and raised their children in the East Kildonan area. Gwen left work to travel with Bruce for his job prior to having children. She enjoyed volunteering within the community. She worked when her children were older for Elections Manitoba for numerous elections. For the last 20 years Gwen and Bruce resided in the RM of Springfield. Her homes away from home were Grand Marais, Netley Creek and Bird River. Gwen loved her flower garden, especially her roses. She loved to laugh and was quite the prankster throughout her life, which kept people on their toes at all times. Gwen enjoyed many hobbies throughout the years and watching TV was her favourite; especially hockey. Nobody could cheer louder for the Winnipeg Jets! Gwen loved going to the casino with her friends, monthly girls dinners and spending time with family. Gwen's life changed on October 18, 2013 when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. She fought a long, hard battle, suffering from compression fractures as a result of the radiation. This slowed her down but didn't stop her and she fought with a positive attitude. In June she had a mild heart attack and a seizure days before she passed. Gwennie was one tough cookie. We will love you always and forever Gwendolyn The Great! A celebration of Gwen's life will take place on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion #215, 3600 Devries Avenue, East St. Paul off of Henderson Highway at the Perimeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gwen's memory may be made to The Dream Factory. Condolences can be left at seasonsfunerals.ca

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I remember Gwen from the 60's and 70's growing up in Winnipeg (EK). Her brother Don was my good friend and she was always fun to be around. She had a great sense of humour and was just a lovely person. Bruce (her boyfriend at the time) was also a great guy, he helped me with a family matter for which I am still very grateful. RIP Gwen and all the best to Bruce and my condolences....Dennis - Posted by: Dennis Lowen (Friend of the family ) on: Oct 23, 2018
