I met Janice in the mid80s when she and her first husband, Dave Bateman bought a house about a block away from my house In North Kildonan. Dave worked as an outside sales man for AAMCO Transmissions in Winnipeg But got a job selling wood burning stoves in Ontario. I worked at an AAMCO Transmission shop in Elmwood and was sad to see him and Janice leave Winnipeg so soon after meeting both them. Janice was expecting their second child at the time, so I checked in on Janice from time to time while Dave was getting established in Ontario. My wife and I were very fond of them and were sad to see them move. After a few years, Dave moved back to Winnipeg and rejoined AAMCO Transmissions. I was happy to have the family back. There were many years of gatherings, but as time goes and people change. We all went in different ways. Dave and Janice separated. My wife and I separated. Dave worked as a successful salesman until his untimely accidental passing. I still miss his jokes and his outgoing personality. I was saddened to hear of Janice's passing. - Posted by: Steve Petriew (Friend and neighbor ) on: Apr 24, 2023
