ANNETTE GOBEIL (née MANAIGRE) 1935 - 2018 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Annette Gobeil on October 18, 2018, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Colombe Manaigre; her sister Yvette Aubin (the late Marcel); her brothers, Roland (the late Laurette), René (the late Alice), Maurice, Lucien, and Claude. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 55 years, Dr. J.J.G. Gobeil; children, Nicole (Paul Barnabé), Lydia, and David; grandchildren, Gabriel and Kaelan; her brothers, Patrice (Yvette) and Louis (Pierrette); sisters, Jeannine (Joe Bielik) and Lucienne (Dr. Paul Belliveau); sisters-in-law, Léona (the late Lucien Manaigre), Yolande (the late Maurice Manaigre), and Joann (the late Claude Manaigre); many relatives, nephews, and nieces. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the following: Dr. S. Permack and staff of Actionmarguerite (3 ABC); Annette Desrochers (mom's hairdresser); Soeur Irène Rioux; Dr. Gabriel and Francyne Lemoine; Céline Gagnon; Dr. S. Zhang, Dr. C. Jaramillo, and staff of 4B Family Medicine (St. Boniface Hospital); Dr. S. Krause, Dr. A. Sprange, Dr. I. Kasloff, and staff of 6AS Clinical Assessment Unit (St. Boniface Hospital); Dr. J. Nayak and Dr. Trevor Lee (St. Boniface Hospital). Mom was kind, caring, and generous. She loved to laugh and to make others laugh too. A hairdresser by trade, she enjoyed getting her hair done and took great pride in her appearance. Mom was also known for her culinary skills; she made the best tourtière and pâté au saumon. She took pleasure in going to the mall, and Christmas was her favourite time of the year. Above all, mom loved her family. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were always in her thoughts, and in her heart. A celebration of Annette's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society.
