Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD ALEXANDER TAYLOR April 20, 1922 - October 22, 2018 With great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Ronald Taylor at Deer Lodge Centre on October 22, 2018. Ronald was predeceased by his mother and father, Aileen and Francis Taylor, and by his brother and his brother's wife William (Bill) and Mary Ann Taylor of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Ronald will be greatly missed by his wife of 76 years, Jean, his only son Ronald William and grandson Gordon. He is also survived by his nieces, Aileen, Heather and Joanne, and by nephew Robert, and their children and grandchildren, and by cousin George and wife Phyllis. Ronald's life revolved around family, sports and the cottage at Balsam Bay. Many summers of family get-togethers at Balsam Bay were highlights for him and everyone present. He was an accomplished hockey and soccer player playing for the East Kildonan Bisons and Excelsior Soccer Club. In 1941, he was invited to participate in the New York Rangers Hockey School. He spent many years supporting his son's and grandson's sports as well as the Jets Hockey Club as a season ticket holder. Ronald was a veteran in the Canadian Air Force. After the war he went to work at the CPR until his retirement as an engineer. He was proud of his job and had many riveting stories of his train days. He also had a full-time job looking after the family to ensure all their needs, and things they didn't need, were met. He will be deeply missed. Thank you to the staff at Deer Lodge Centre for caring for both Ronald and Jean, who still resides there. A private interment at Brookside Cemetery is planned. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ronald's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
