  • I can not begin to imagine your heartache in losing such a vibrant, bubbly, beautiful (both inside and out) daughter. She was always smiling and laughing when I visited the store. Heaven is a better place now she is there and I am sure she is putting smiles on people there. - Posted by: Susan Lohin (Friend of Tara and rep of her store) on: Nov 03, 2018

  • You were a loving friend, a gentle soul, a kind spirit and a beautiful person both inside and out. The bright, warm, inviting light that radiated from within you made everyone who crossed your path feel loved, accepted and special. In the 15 years we were friends, there wasn't a day that went by where you weren't smiling (geez that smile!), laughing and making others laugh. Your winning personality, quick wit and exceptionally stunning beauty put you in a league of your own. In recent years, you felt you had lost some of your femininity and beauty, and I did my best to assure you that couldn't have been further from the truth. Nothing could ever steal your beauty. You were an intelligent, imaginative, unique and wonderfully talented human being whose character was rich and whose potential was limitless. I am so happy to have met you and, moreover, so incredibly honoured to have called you my friend. A friend who was loyal, caring and understanding and who helped others whenever she could - however she could. Though your time here was brief, you lived life to the fullest with lots of great family & friends which you shared good laughs, good times and a glorious life with - leaving all those you touched with fond memories to last a lifetime. The news of your passing has left me devastated beyond belief and more than words can ever express. My heart aches at the thought that we will never be able to talk, hang out and laugh until we cry like how we used to again. I can't believe you're actually gone. You were, are and always will be loved and will be sorely missed. Rest easy, my friend. You are in exceptional hands now.⚘ - Posted by: Carol Skeete (Friend) on: Nov 02, 2018

  • Dear Tammy & Bruce, The news of Alexis’s loss is heartbreaking. Please know that Valerie, Bianca and I are thinking of you and Bruce and that there is boundless love and prayer being offered for your family. Your time with Alexis is an incredible gift—I know you realize that, and that she was a wonderful young lady. Who was kind to everyone she knew. She is now out of pain in Jesus’ loving arms. We love you lots now and forever! Valerie, Bianca & Joanne - Posted by: Joanne Loewen (Sister) on: Oct 31, 2018

  • Alexis is proof that angels do exist on this earth. It is said that people have a zest for life...well Alexis was THE zest. She had an energy in her art, in her eyes, in her laughter that I will never forget, and it is no wonder that she made those around her see that zest in the things all around them. She always had a way of seeing things in a manner that made it easy for me to understand and connect with her--which gave me unlimited energy to help me to help her. As much as I had the honour to "counsel" her---it really was more like an adventure where we got to walk side by side as she told me her wishes, dreams, struggles and triumphs. She always had a solution for anything, and a plan to make it happen. She saw no fear, only affirmations for the things she loved. She did not possess beauty- SHE WAS BEAUTY, and she used this wonderful power to make a difference with any person who was lucky enough to have walked beside her on her journey. I will listen for her whenever I hear someone laugh, and I will continue to put the same energy into the things I love- as she helped me see that anything can be faced when you make the decision to do so. Strength to your wings Alexis- and be free to fly where you choose. - Posted by: Milli Khan (Counsellor) on: Oct 31, 2018

  • I got the blessing of hanging out with Alexis sometimes and have to say she was such a wonderful person to be around. So beautiful, kind, funny and just good-hearted and amazing. It saddens me knowing someone so beautiful inside and out had to leave us so soon. My condolences go out to her family and other friends during this hard time. Such a perfect angel she will be. - Posted by: Kari (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2018

  • I am absolutely devastated and offer my deepest condolences to Alexsis’ family and friends. It was my great privilege to help Alexsis navigate a work life balance. Anyone that met her would understand how struck I was by her sheer determination not to be defined by her illness. So much so I never really believed that she wouldn’t be okay. Alexsis is a beautiful soul, an Angel that walked amoung us and I was lucky to have her if only for a short time. She is the reason I do what I do everyday and I will always have her with me. I will never forget her beauty, her power or her laugh. - Posted by: Claudia Corona (Counseller at REES) on: Oct 27, 2018
