DESTINY DAWN TAILLIEU November 10, 1995 - November 4, 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Destiny Dawn Taillieu at the age of 22 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her mom Shelly Taillieu; grandfather Wayne Taillieu; aunts, Tammy Taillieu (Brent Griffin) and Jody Ferraro (Dale Obodzinski); her "pseudo-siblings", Kayla, Brett, and Miya; cousins, Jordyn, Nick, and Brandee (Dan); her long-term boyfriend Sean Neufeld; father Lyle Brown; and many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her grandmother Lynda Taillieu; great-grandparents, Marcel and Heather Taillieu and Fred Ritchot; great- aunt Elaine Pitman; and cousin Wendy Halleran. Destiny was born November 10, 1995 at the Victoria Hospital. She grew up in a small town called St. Adolphe. She attended Ecole St. Adolphe School from kindergarten to grade eight, where she met some of her closest, lifelong friends. During her childhood, Destiny loved playing sports - figure skating, cheerleading, diving, curling, ringette, and softball. She also loved animals, especially her dog Duncan. Destiny was an extremely smart and determined young person - often working two jobs, graduating from St. Norbert Collegiate a year early in 2012, and embarking on her university career. She was a leader and an advocate - passionately fighting for the many causes she believed in and trying to make the world a more caring and compassionate place. Destiny also struggled with mental health and addiction issues during her short life, but battled to stay with us all until the end. We will miss you. A celebration of Destiny's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Destiny's memory to Tamarack Recovery Centre, tamarackrehab.org or the Winnipeg Humane Society, winnipeghumanesociety.ca. • I miss you so much Destiny. You were not just my daughter- you were my best friend. When you were young we had so many good times. I know you were powerless over the drugs but I know you were trying so hard to get it and everyone failed you over and over. Miss you more everyday. • I was deeply deeply hurt and shocked to see this. I am sorry for your loss and my heart will be with the entire family, especially Destiny's mom. Destiny and I worked together at a safe space for youth and Destiny was amazing at her chosen career path. She had the biggest heart and her quick wit would always have others laughing. She will forever be remembered and should any of the family need an ear, please don't hesitate. All my love - Posted by: Amber (Colleague) on: Dec 22, 2018

  • My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family at this time. More needs to be done with mental health issues and I hope that Destiny's story helps to raise awareness as to the needs and concerns. She fought a good fight, and I hope that fight can be passed on to whomever needs it now. Her life is to be celebrated as we see her grow her wings. She will always be around. In God I trust. - Posted by: Pamela Rubachuk (Friend) on: Nov 09, 2018

Hugs. - Posted by: Levia Morin (grandma of her childhood friend) on: Nov 09, 2018
