ARTHUR (JOHN) EDMUNDS July 14, 1932 - November 2, 2018 After a long struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Arthur "John" Edmunds, 86, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018, with his family by his side. Left to cherish his memory are his partner Cheryl Currie, children, Angie and Claire (Bill), stepchildren, James and Shari, and grandchildren, Chase (Erin) and Alex. John was predeceased by his first wife Pam, brother Brian, and sister Terry. John is survived by his sister-in-law Donna and family in Wales, brothers, Emlyn (Marion) and Doug, sister-in-law Avril, and many nieces and nephews. In 1974, John and his family emigrated from Pontypool, Wales to Selkirk, Manitoba to begin a new life. John was a metallurgist by profession and worked at the Manitoba Rolling Mills until he retired in 1990 as the Melt Shop Superintendent. John enjoyed his retirement and especially golfing and curling. He was a member of the Charleswood Curling Club, the Charleswood Golf Course, and the Assiniboine Golf Course. He loved playing cards, including bridge, but "Blackball" was his favourite. John thrived on competition, and his grandsons learned at a young age that winning against "Granddad" wasn't going to be easy. John, you gave us strength, intelligence, room to grow and learn, and above all, love without conditions. Thank you for always being there when we needed you. We will miss you, but you will always be with us. The family would like to thank the staff at the Tuxedo Villa Extendicare Personal Care Home for their wonderful care and support of John that made all the difference during the last phase of his life. As per John's wishes, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba, or a charity of your choice.
