Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN CHARLOTTE PARR It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Doreen Charlotte Parr (nee Reid). With her daughters and granddaughter at her side, Doreen passed away on November 6, 2018 at Oakview Place Personal Care Home at the age of 93 years. Doreen leaves to cherish her memory her children, Janet Young (Don) and Anne Singbeil (Rick); grandchildren, Dawn Snowdon (Dale) and Kevin Young; great-grandchildren, Cole and Jake Snowdon; brother-in-law Doug McEwen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Vern; her parents, Bill and Beth Reid; brother Bill and sister-in-law Ann Reid, and sister Heather McEwen. Doreen was born in Winnipeg and lived here all her life. She was employed at CNR where she met and married her husband of 25 years. She loved singing and playing the piano, family dinners, and her many trips to Maui. She was active at Deer Lodge United Church for a number of years where she sang in the choir and made many lifelong friends (the "Charades" gang). At Doreen's request, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Oakview Place for their kind and compassionate care in Doreen's last years. Doreen and Vern were part of my growing up years, both in Deer Lodge United Church and in our family home. Their friendship with my parents was long and strong. Doreen was a fun loving woman who often played charades at my home. I could hear her laughing 2 stories above the games room. I am so thankful Doreen had a long happy life.
