ALEXANDER BELL MCKEON July 5, 1927 - November 10, 2018 Alex passed away peacefully at the Misericordia Health Centre on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the age of 91 years. He was preceded in death by his father Alexander Patrick McKeon in 1970, and his mother Edith Ellen (Bell) McKeon in 1971. Al will be missed by numerous family members and close friends. Alex was born in Winnipeg and spent his whole life in the Fort Rouge neighbourhood. He worked for a short period of time as a police officer and a firefighter in his younger years. He eventually settled into a career working for Thomas Rathwell Ltd. that spanned 30 years. He retired in 1992 and enjoyed riding his bicycle that he received as a retirement gift. Al enjoyed a very active long retirement, spending many days with friends watching football and hockey games. A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at the St. Boniface Hospital 4th Floor and to the doctors and nursing staff at the Misericordia Health Centre who cared for Al in his final days. A very special thank you to Dr. James Tam for his compassionate care. In accordance with Alex's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
