JOYCE ELEANOR WEBBER (nee WILWAND) Born to Robert and Olive Wilwand on March 12, 1929, Joyce Webber passed away peacefully on November 19, 2018, with her family by her side. She is very greatly missed by her loving and devoted family: daughter Karen Skrepnek (Alan); and sons Blair and Todd (Cathie). She was the proud grandmother (Nan) of Carrie, Matthew (Maylee) and little Julia. She also leaves to mourn her ever-caring and cherished nieces and nephews. Sadly, she is the last of a large family of brothers and sisters. In 2010 she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Doug. 'Til death do-you part' is a familiar phrase in marriage ceremonies. To some, like Joyce, this dedication extended beyond that and reinforced to all who knew her that some love never dies. Joyce was small in stature but in supporting her family -- GIGANTIC. Anybody would pick her to be in their corner as she defended her family like a bantam weight champion fighter. By example, Joyce instilled a strong work ethic in those around her. She worked tirelessly beyond her own full-time job. Her after-hours work provided extra support for her family - very little ever spent on herself. Joyce spent many summers with family and friends at Brereton Lake and Bird River. In retirement, Joyce and Doug also enjoyed winter vacations with family and friends in several places including Arizona, Barbados, Florida, Hawaii and Jamaica. Though weakening, she was particularly strong and brave in submitting, without complaint, to her last challenge. During her last weeks she strove to share personal messages, stories and special memories with all of her most-welcome visitors. The family appreciates the staff at Victoria General Hospital who provided exceptional care, compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba would be welcomed. A service in Joyce's memory will be held at the Neil Bardal Funeral Service Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, on Tuesday, November 27, at 1:00 p.m. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

  • I was saddened to here of Joyce's passing. She had a fire and a great spirit. A little dynamo! I know how much she loved you all and I know you all cherished her. She lives on in your memories of the lake, Sunday dinners and all the card games. Sending hugs and prayers during this difficult time. xo Susan and George - Posted by: Susan and George Belanger (friends) on: Nov 24, 2018

  • I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know how close all of you were. Aunt Joyce always had a big smile and a big hug for me whenever I saw her. I'm sorry I can't be there. I'm out of the country right now and can't leave. Aunt Joyce will be greatly missed but she is in good company now and I'm sure those rascals are sharing fond memories. Love to you all, Michele - Posted by: Michele Pearson (nee Webber) (niece) on: Nov 24, 2018
