YAROSLAW LEONARD (JERRY) MOSKALYK Peacefully, on November 25, 2018, Jerry Moskalyk passed away. He is survived by his son Michael (Monica), daughter Andrea (Chris), son Matthew (Breanna), sister Helen Chaput (Vic), mother of his children (Sophie), as well as five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two nephews, and many close friends. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mary. Jerry spent his working career as a civil engineer with the provincial government, after graduating from the University of Manitoba, and stayed in contact with many of his classmates. He celebrated his cultural background in many ways, including being a member of the Sons of Ukrainian Pioneers, and was very proud of his heritage. Jerry created some beautiful Banduras. Staying active in his church, Jerry's voice could always be heard every time the choir performed. One of his greatest passions was his cottage, which Jerry built with his own skilled hands. He loved to be there - whether to putter around in the yard, add on to the house and garage, or simply enjoy a coffee and chat with a neighbour. It is with the deepest of sadness that we mourn his passing, but with the greatest joy that we celebrate his wonderful life. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at Gimli Hospital, as well as to the Gimli RCMP. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Our deepest condolences to Matt and his family on the loss of his father. Regardless of the fact that we know that death is inevitable, nothing can quite prepare one for the loss of their parent. Our prayers are with you and your loved ones at this time. Sylvia & David - Posted by: Sylvia & David Hood (friend of Matt (Jerry's son)) on: Dec 03, 2018

  • A very thoughtful and gentle man. A very good photographer, Jerry is responsible for the majority of pictures taken at the Class of '61 Civils Annual Luncheons and the less frequent Class Reunions. His soft voice and kind disposition will be sadly missed. - Posted by: Kenneth Adam (Civil Engineering Classmate (1961)) on: Dec 01, 2018
