Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURRAY JOHN MCDONALD On November 26, 2018 at Riverview Palliative Care Center, Murray passed away peacefully, with his family by his side. He will be missed by his wife Patricia (Pat), daughter Heather, son Scott (Kelsey) and grandsons, Owen and Griffin, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Ida and his brother Grant. Murray was born January 15, 1943 in Virden, MB and spent his younger years on the family farm north of Oak Lake. He moved to Brandon to apprentice as an auto mechanic and met his soon-to-be wife Pat when they were part of the same wedding party. Pat and Murray lived most of their married life in Charleswood. It was there they raised a family and made many close friends. Murray was kind and generous to neighbours, friends and strangers alike. Always ready and willing to help, he could be counted on to have a big smile and an even bigger laugh. He had an enduring love and appreciation for nature and all living things. He enjoyed working with wood, especially building or refinishing furniture. Our family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who assisted us during his time of illness, most especially to Trish and other members of the Palliative Care team. They managed to keep him in our home almost to the end, and for that, we will always be grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations in Murray's memory, may be made to a charity of choice. A Celebration of Life will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue at 2:30 pm Tuesday, December 4. Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship and celebration.
