VIOLET EDITH KNOPF (nee CONNOR) 1937 - 2018 Peacefully on December 8, 2018, Violet passed surrounded by her loving family, at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home. Violet leaves to cherish her memory, son Donald and daughter Shannon (Wade); grandchildren, Kali, Nigel, Holly and her sister Roma (Cochrane, AB). She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Arthur; parents, Clifford and Margaret; siblings, Peggy, Phyllis, Kay, Lillian, Pat, Barbara, Dorothy, Cliff, Norman, Jim and Michael. Mom was born in Eriksdale, MB, and in 1945 the Connor family settled in Whitemouth. Mom married Dad (Arthur) from Seven Sisters, MB in 1957. She was a warm and loving person and treasured family. Mom looked forward to spoiling her grandchildren during summer vacations when they would spend time with Granny and Papa visiting the "dump" looking for bears or helping with yard work. As well, many good times with sisters and their families at the Molinski cottage at White Lake (Baby's Inn). When not with the grandkids Mom could be found hosting large family gatherings, curling, BINGO, baking, shopping in Winnipeg, playing scramble with her sisters or making puzzles with her son Don while sporting one of the many colourful scarfs she loved to collect. She also worked at Whiteshell Eggs and the Whitemouth Day Care. Mom often volunteered for the local organizations, Whitemouth Community Centre, at curling bonspiels and canvassed for the Red Cross, Heart and Stroke, March of Dimes. She possessed a special gift of connecting with children so much that she was known as the town's contact for babysitting for many years. Sadly, Mom did not fully recover from the loss of her beloved husband Arthur in 2013. Her family finds comfort and solace knowing she has been reunited with Dad. The family would like to thank the staff at the Whitemouth PCH for their care and compassion over the last four years. Mom loved the afternoon music entertainment, playing BINGO Thursday evenings, cards and Dominos! Cremation has taken place. Mom will reunite with Dad on June 29, 2019 (their Wedding Anniversary) at a graveside service at the Whitemouth Cemetery, Whitemouth, Manitoba. A reminder in June to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Playtime Nursery School, Box 285, Whitemouth, MB R0E 2G0.
