MARGUERITE ANNE MOHR November 28, 1937 - December 19, 2018 It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of our sister and aunt, Marguerite. Peacefully on December 19, she was called to her loving Lord at Deer Lodge Centre. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Louis, by brother Lou and sister-in-law Margery. She is lovingly remembered by sisters, Jeannette of Calgary and Anne (Ken) of Vancouver, nephews, Bill and Peter, nieces, Jennifer, Amy and Christine, sister-in-law Judy, and great-nephews and nieces, Garrett, Kathryn, Liam and Niki. Marguerite was born in Saskatoon, SK. She was diagnosed with MS at age 16. Except for a few acute attacks in the early years she was able to continue her education and career. A graduate of St. Mary's Academy and College with a BA (1959) and the University of Manitoba with a BEd (1965), she taught at private and public schools before working as a correspondence teacher for the Manitoba Department of Education (1964 to 1992). Her interests varied from tennis and skiing in teen years, to knitting, crocheting, non-credit interest courses and playing bridge in retirement years. From early days as a piano accompanist for a variety concert at St. Joseph's parochial school in Saskatoon, Marguerite had always had an interest in music of all types. She supported the Manitoba Opera Association and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra for many years. She enjoyed travel over the years including a Panama cruise as well as vacations to Mexico, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, New York, New Brunswick, Phoenix and Europe. She also loved her many visits to family in Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. The family would like to extend the utmost gratitude for the expert care at Deer Lodge Centre, and to her nieces and friends including Cheri from Comforts of Home, who frequently attended to her needs. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church at 510 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Sam Argenziano officiating. Condolences prior, reception to follow. Burial at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marguerite's name to St. Mary's Academy, the MS Society of Canada or to Deer Lodge Centre.
