Date of Passing: Dec 08, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE DYCK June 12, 1927 - December 8, 2018 Anne Dyck of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away bravely and peacefully on December 8, 2018, at age 91. She was predeceased by John, her husband of 63 years, and is survived by her children, Kenneth (Karen), Gerald (Margo), Michael, Judith (James Flett) and Karen (Rod Keiller); her grandchildren, Megan (Daniel) Kroeker, Larissa Dyck, Jeremy Dyck, Tristan Hunt, Leslie Hunt, Jayden Dyck, Coel Flett and Rhys Flett; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Olivia Kroeker; her brothers, Andy and Jac Hiebert, and sister Doris Hildebrand; and her sister-in-law Helen Doerksen, John's remaining sibling. Anne was born in Niverville, Manitoba to Katherine and Peter Hiebert and was seventh of eleven children. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Ed, Kay, Marie, Peter, John, Dave and Bill. The family lost their mother when Anne was 10, which left a lasting impact. Anne left school with regret after grade eight, which drove her to read widely and stay informed throughout her life. She and John farmed at Domain, Manitoba, and Anne worked hard alongside John to make the farm a success. After John and Anne moved to Winnipeg, Anne worked as a companion and caregiver. She was very grateful for the time she spent with her grandchildren. Anne was a lifelong member of the Mennonite Church and her faith guided her life. She loved to sew and took great pride in neatly finished seams and a tailored fit. Whatever she undertook, she strove to do flawlessly, whether it was her garden, a meal or well-set table. Anne loved to listen to classical music, especially if she could turn up the volume high. A funeral will be held on January 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford Street. Interment prior to the service at LaSalle Mennonite Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. A special thanks to Lindenwood Manor, where Anne lived for the last 10 years, and to Henry Neufeld and his late wife Elna, whose wise friendship and guidance to John, Anne and their family for almost five decades is greatly appreciated. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. - Psalm 23:4
