Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD LEMOINE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Raymond Lemoine on December 29, 2018, at the age of 69. He was surrounded by his family while vacationing in Bali, Indonesia, a Christmas holiday that he fully embraced to get away from the cold. Richard is survived by his cherished wife Alice and beloved three sons, Joël (Nadia), Robert (Melissa) and Eric, his brothers, Jacques (Susan), Raymond (Madeleine) and sister Madeleine (René), along with numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Hélène Lemoine. Richard was born on May 1, 1949 in Ste. Agathe, Manitoba. Growing up on the farm, he began acquiring and displaying an ingenuity for creating things, a skill set that played an integral role in his life. Known to everyone as a very skillful and creative 'handyman', he leaves behind a piece of his work in many homes. After taking care of the family land for many years, Richard moved to Winnipeg to begin a new chapter in his life with his wife of 41 years, Alice (Pilon), where they settled and raised their three sons in St. Vital. Through his various jobs over the years (Balcaen and Sons, Independent Heating and Ambassador Mechanical), he took great pride in his work and enjoyed the interactions with both the people and the places he came across. He had a caring spirit, a consistent and perpetual sense of humour, a carefree, positive attitude and a strong catholic faith. He will forever be remembered as being a devoted, supportive and loving husband, father and friend. In his last years of retirement, Richard fully embraced the liberty of being around the house and puttering or fiddling with inventions to surprise his wife after a day of work. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the outstanding doctors and staff at the Siloam International Hospital in Bali, for the professional and compassionate care provided for Richard. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint-Eugène Roman Catholic Church, 1009 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. I am so shocked and sad to hear this saddest news. Fr. Reilander informed us this morning at Prayer time. All I can say to you at this time is that May God give you enough strength and fortitude to bear this great loss of your beloved husband. The boys must be totally devastated. May the happy memories of Richard sustain you all, during this most difficult time. Please accept my deepest condolences and we pray he finds rest in our Lord Jesus Christ. We were shocked & saddened to hear of Richard’s passing. Will always remember his smile & cheerful attitude when he came in for his dental appointments. Unfortunately we were unable to attend his funeral as we were on vacation in Cuba. Take comfort & peace in knowing the angels welcomed him home with open arms. May he rest in eternal peace. Dear Alice: I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Richard's passing today. While no one can understand the pain that you and your family are experiencing, it is perhaps of some consolation that many are prepared to walk along side of you as you make this terrible journey. You and your family have suffered an appalling loss but as a man who demonstrated a caring spirit, a sense of humour, a positive attitude and strong faith, Richard has left a magnificent legacy for the whole family to cling to.
