THELMA E. KRULL It is with heavy hearts that we announce the all-to-soon passing of Thelma Krull, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Thelma Ellen Therriault, born March 9, 1958 in Chapleau, Ontario to Henry and Thelma Therriault as their youngest of five children. Thelma lived in Ontario and Saskatchewan and ultimately resided in Winnipeg, MB in 1985. Thelma married Robert Andrew Krull on June 28, 1986. Thelma loved her family dearly and was very close with her two children, Lisa Ellen Besser and Robert Jonathan Krull, and grandson Cole Michael Besser. Thelma was a hard worker and avid learner, depicted by such endeavours as owner of Mr. Sub restaurant for over 10 years, a Scouts Canada Leader for over 10 years, a graduate of Robertson College in 2011 at the age of 53, and an Administrative Assistant and so much more at not-for-profit organization S.P.I.K.E. With all that Thelma took on, she gave more than 100% at every turn. Thelma touched and affected many lives, always with a positive attitude and outlook on life. She will be dearly missed and held in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Life and final prayers for Thelma will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Rd., Winnipeg, MB. In respect to the family in this time of sorrow, we greatly ask for no photography, no videotaping and no media of any kind (social or news). In lieu of flowers or gifts, anyone who so wishes can instead donate towards Scouts Canada, S.P.I.K.E., Candace House, or that of your choice. I am so very sorry for your family's tragic loss. I hoped and prayed her story would have a happy ending but unfortunately it wasn't to be. I now hope you found some kind of closure that you were able to lay her to rest. May she rest in peace, and I really pray that someday soon the person responsible for this horrible act is caught and punished! God bless your family and hope you are able to heal and move forward and feel joy and happiness once again. - Posted by: Shannon (Winnipeg resident) on: Jul 11, 2019

Ever since Thelma's dissapearance, and seeing the missing posters everywhere, I always had hope that one day she would be found. I never knew Thelma or her family, however being a fellow Winnipegger and living in the same community, I felt I needed to follow her story; thinking about her every time I would pass Kimberly Hill and wondering how her family, friends and loved ones were getting on. I hope now there is a sense of closure, and the family can finally grieve and move forward in their lives. RIP Thelma E. Krull. - Posted by: amber washington (Winnipegger ) on: Jan 24, 2019

I've thought about Thelma every day since I found out she was missing and looked for her everywhere I went. I was never lucky enough to know her but she wrapped herself around my heart. I hung a purple scarf on "the tree" for Thelma as its the only thing I could offer to try to keep her safe and warm while she was missing. I offer my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends and I truly believe she is at peace now. Rest now beautiful Thelma, - Posted by: Karla King (Winnipeger) on: Jan 18, 2019

For some reason her case has gripped me and I thought about her often, as I walked alot myself and was always more aware of my surroundings. This is not how I was hoping they would find her. The news that day was very hard to take even thou she wasnt family or I didnt know her, it felt like I did. May you rest easy beautiful lady. I can't just not say something to the family now that Thelma has been found. I have to say I hoped most sincerely she would be found somewhere alive. I looked for her in my travels and wished I was the one who found her. I remember seeing a picture of her shoes and watched for shoes in places they shouldn't be. I am deeply sorry for your loss but know that the whole country and beyond knew this story and wished for her safe return. Rest In Peace Thelma from a family who cared. - Posted by: Vickie Emms () on: Jan 08, 2019

Condolences to the Family of Thelma. As a Winnipeger, I, and many many other citizens, followed the media about Thelma being a missing person. The news that she had been found was devastating to everyone. In reading the Notice in Passages ... we have a little glimpse of the wonderful human being who was Thelma. There has been such a prolonged grieving experience for the Family and dear friends of Thelma ... and that is necessary, but it is also a great tribute too ... to your Beloved Thelma. She is safe now. Peace Be With You All. - Posted by: A. C. (Community) on: Jan 06, 2019

Thelma was one of those students who left such a positive impression on me long after she moved on to her next class at Robertson. Her good sense of humor, always asking questions and wanting to challenge herself are just a few of the many qualities I remember. Thelma's class was rather large and she noticed that by the end of the afternoon I was pretty tired....so once in awhile she would bring me homemade cookies or her wonderful brownies to brighten my day. She truly was a warm and caring person. May she be at peace. Sincerely, Gerry M. - Posted by: Gerry M (Former instructor at Robertson College) on: Jan 06, 2019

My condolences to Bob and family. Thelma was an amazing lady. She was one of the kindest and sweetest people I have met in my life. I called her and my sister Thelma and Louise as they had an amazing friendship. They were “sisters”. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. You will always hold a special place in my heart. You will never be forgotten. Love 🌹 Rose Brown - Posted by: Rose Brown (Friend) on: Jan 06, 2019

Growing up as a child I was best friends with Thelma's daughter Lisa. Thelma was such a loving, caring mom to Lisa and also to me. I considered her to be my second mom because she would take us places together and always allow me to come over and sleep over too. She took me and Lisa to the first movie I had ever seen which was Benji...I went on a few camping trips with them...Wheelies...ceramic club...we spent many times together and I always remember Thelma to be people person...good natured, kind, happy, optimistic, even cool! I'm so thankful that I had the chance for her to be a part of my life as a young child. My memories of her and my friendship with the family will always stay with me. Thelma has been and will always be in my thoughts and lovingly missed. Sending my sincere condolences to Lisa, Bob and the rest of the family. - Posted by: Alison Black (Friend of Lisa) on: Jan 06, 2019

I followed all the media attention for Thelma when she went missing and OH how I prayed for Her return to Her Family & Friends. Sadly the outcome we ALL prayed for Thelma was not to be because God in His goodness decided Thelma had earned Her WINGS! Thelma is now resting in Heaven with those who have gone on before Her and this old earth is a much brighter place for having Thelma gracing us with Her presence. Rest Easy Now Sweet Thelma, you are safe and you are home. XO, Virginia Hill Redmond, GIMLI, MB. - Posted by: Virginia Hill Redmond (Distant FRIEND) on: Jan 05, 2019
