Born: Dec 27, 1930
Date of Passing: Dec 29, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH VIVIAN ALDERSON (née COOK) December 27, 1930 - December 29, 2018 Ruth Alderson passed away peacefully in the loving arms of family on December 29, after a long life well lived. Ruth was a terrible driver, an amazing cook, eager investor, lover of Christmas morning, peacemaker, French fry aficionado, glorious dancer and tiny whirlwind of energy. She was a bright light who cherished her family above all else. Ruth's children, Terry, Lori and Lindy; grandchildren, Jennivieve/Jennifer (Jason), Kenny (Melissa) and Kyla (Graham); and beloved great-grandchildren, Meguire, Piper-Prairie, Poet, Paisley, Briar, Truett, as well as John will endeavour to keep her tenacious and joyful spirit alive as we mourn her earth side presence. We have no doubt that Ruth roller-skated into the loving arms of those who went before her: her husband Ken; Mom and Dad; and all of her siblings. Ruth's family will celebrate her life and spirit in the summer, when we'll be sure to have all her favourite things: family, laughter, little ones and food - most importantly ginger-ale, chocolate milk, Turtles and French fries. Ruth, the fun loving, roller-skating, dancing, joyful, easygoing dynamo will forever be alive in our hearts and memories. Thank you to the staff of Cedar House and Seven Oaks Hospital 4th floor. Mrs. Alderson was the fun “Mom” for sure. She went roller skating and welcomed us all into her home. She protected me from the fierce dog that loved everybody else, but cornered me everytime I came to pick Terry up. Sorry to here Mrs. A. passed away, but I am sure she will make heaven a more interesting place. Please let me know went the service is this summer. Remembering her takes me back to the good times! - Posted by: Brenna (Friend of Terry’s) on: Feb 04, 2019

We took a cruise in 2010 and I shall never forget her. She truly loved travel, dancing and going out. I shall miss her wonderful smile and enthusiasm. Ruth you will be forever in our thoughts. Keep dancing and enjoy your new life up there with family and friends. - Posted by: Doreen Amadatsu (friend) on: Feb 04, 2019

To say Ruth was a bright light and a whirlwind of energy would be an understatement. We were neighbours of Ruth & Ken (in St. James). Although we hadn't seen her for many years, a beautiful soul is always remembered. - Posted by: Darlene & Ron Baxter (Friend) on: Jan 22, 2019
