ALICE BEDARD Peacefully on January 5, 2019, Alice Bedard passed away at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach, Manitoba, two weeks before her 97th birthday. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. A longer obituary will follow. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements 204-775-2220

Aunt Alice, or 'Ma Tante Alice' had to be one of the strongest, kindest, happiest people I ever knew. As a kid we'd sometimes make the trip to Iles Des Chenes to visit and we were always excited because we got to see her. She was also my teacher for a short period, after we lost our home to fire, we stayed with them and, having to go to school, went where my cousins went. And she was one of our teachers which was pretty cool for a 6 year old. She was always a reminder to me that the world can be a far more decent place if we just treated each other with a little more understanding and kindness.
