I was always thrilled when we got to visit Grandma, or even more thrilled when she visited us. She loved visiting and hosting visitors and had an open door policy at her house. My earliest memory of Grandma was at Gimli beach when I was just under 3 years old and all I remember was laughing and having fun playing in the water with her. She had a zest for life and loved collecting and reading maps, which I loved too. We would study maps together and talk about places we wanted to visit. Some of my own road trips were inspired by those times I spent with her. When I was very young she travelled to Nova Scotia and celebrated her 50th birthday with us, recently we celebrated her 90th birthday with her too. Such happy times! I will always remember Grandma laughing and joking, and the way she loved all children. - Posted by: David Lyons (Grandson) on: Jan 09, 2019

First, a very big thank you to Auntie Jean and Didi for being there for our Mom with assurances of love and care and peace just at the right time. A very big blessing and help to her. Thank you Mom, for your gift and love of seeing and learning new things that you have given to me. My earliest memories of that are being at our favourite Grand Beach, MB with you and Dad and Diane and Grandma and Grandpa Allen at the cottages they would rent. Hence, our love of the water and chip wagon chips! Later on I had the opportunities to live in different places, the wonderful prairies in MB and AB and back to MB and the West Coast and the East Coast and you came and visited and stayed where ever my family and I lived. You enjoyed the outings and the sights where ever we went and had fun! You saw all of your kids and other family wherever they were and your own trips and thrived on them. Your gift is a blessing to me and you will always be in my heart and forever missed. "God Bless and pat the pets". - Posted by: Linda Lyons (Daughter) on: Jan 09, 2019
