Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTIN HAROLD SABEL February 16, 1947 - January 7, 2019 Marty passed away January 7, 2019 unexpectedly at his home. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (1998); daughter Mandy (2001); stepdaughter Lori (2012); sister Judy (2002), and his father Cliff (2014). With his passing, Marty leaves to mourn his daughter Marcie; granddaughter Mary; stepson Kevin; stepgranddaughters, Talia and Randi; sister Dawn; brothers, Fred and Gerry, and a large extended family. He worked as a foremen with Nelson River Construction for 37 years until he retired in 2011. Marty would often be seen spending his "allowance" at South Beach Casino, or spending time with his granddaughter Mary. Along with daily walks with his dog Rocky to Tim Horton's where they would often share a coffee and a donut, until his health started to decline and those walks turned into taking Rocky for "his business." A Celebration of Life will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 with interment to follow in the St. Clement's cemetery. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Full obituary will run in Saturday's paper.
