JOSEPH PAUL GANTON
Date of Passing: Jan 06, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH PAUL GANTON On January 6, 2019, suddenly, but not unexpectedly, Joe (Trapper) Ganton slipped away to a place where he no longer struggled to breathe. His life was full, he was faithful to his friends, and his love for, and pride in his family, was larger than life itself. He is survived by his mom, Lauraine, who may never recover from this loss, and by his sister, Colleen and husband Bob Byron, his good friend. Joe loved talking about his nieces, Stefanie (Blake), Lindsay (Dorian) and Chelsey (Chris). He delighted in stories of his great nieces, Cadence and Cassidy, and often said he was going to teach them how to fish. Joe was predeceased by his Dad, Paul, in 2003. A celebration of Joe's life will be held in Manitoba when the snow is gone, grass is green, and trees are in full bloom, just as he would have wanted it. Joe was always willing to help. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a charitable donation in his memory, can be made online to the Coldwell Lundar Community Foundation Inc. or mailed to Box 154, Lundar, MB, R0C1Y0, or a charity of your choice. Condolences, pictures and videos may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, MB. in care of arrangements.

Dear Mrs. Ganton, Colleen & family, I was so saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I cannot begin to understand how you must feel; however I can understand the peace he must have felt no longer struggling to breathe. That was one of mother's greatest fears. The world will be a much quieter place without him in it. I wish you peace and comfort as such a sorrowful time in your lives. My most sincere condolences, Cathy Nevakshonoff-Benoit. - Posted by: Cathy Nevakshonoff-Benoit (Friend) on: Jan 15, 2019

Very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We were high school buddies. I saw Joe once or twice over the years and it was almost like no time had passed since we last saw each other. We enjoyed some good times together in the Fisher Branch, Poplarfield area. - Posted by: Derek Chudyk (friend) on: Jan 13, 2019

My earliest memories with Joe was shooting our Daisy BB guns at paper targets under his Dad's supervision in their garage in Stony Mountain. Then later rabbit and chicken hunting near Poplarfield . He was a great mentor and even better friend. Thanks for the great memories Joe. - Posted by: Dale Baker (Friend) on: Jan 12, 2019

Joe was one of the first guys I worked with when I got hired on with MTS. Whenever I stayed at the Lundar Hotel Joe would always take me for rides around the community. Lots of stories and lots of laughs. In later years I was able to meet his parents and his aunt Evelyn. I'm honored to have known them all. - Posted by: Blair Swanson (MTS co-worker) on: Jan 12, 2019

Our deepest sympathy to Lauraine and Colleen on the loss of your son and brother. These fine people were our neighbours when we first got married. Their love of family was a great example to follow and Joe obviously followed it to a T. May all our happy memories bring peace and comfort to you all. - Posted by: Betty & Dave King (long ago neighbour) on: Jan 12, 2019
