We were Ron’s neighbours for about two and a half years. He was always quiet and mostly kept to himself, but in the interactions we did have we found him to be very kind, considerate and non-judgmental. He never minded that our yappy dog would lose his mind barking at him every time he saw him. Ron would always wave and shout back, “hi Leo!” He never mentioned the fact that he would cut his grass literally 3 or 4 times for every one time we cut ours. Ron would bring us tomatoes and other produce from his garden and we would do the same. He seemed to enjoy the fact that we had a newborn in the house and would smile and wave to her, and was always very considerate not to mow his lawn when he thought she might be sleeping. He spoke reverently about my grandparents (his former neighbours) and always referred to them as “Mr. and Mrs. B.” That meant a lot to me, especially after they passed. We knew he wasn’t well but were very surprised and saddened to learn of his passing. I will miss our chats over the backyard fence. Rest in peace, Ron. - Posted by: Matt and Julie Becker (Neighbours) on: Jan 30, 2019
