Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN MILDRED HALLY January 31, 1930 - January 12, 2019 Jean Mildred Hally (née Boyd) was born in Dauphin, Manitoba to Samuel Johnson Boyd and Mary Agnes Boyd. She passed away peacefully shy of her 89th birthday and was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Gordon Francis Hally, as well as her siblings, Anne, Eva, Claude and Doreen. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Viselli, son-in-law Sante A. Viselli, grandson Antonio, granddaughter Maria, and great-grandchildren, Valentina and Pascal. After spending time in Dauphin, Churchill and Kenora, she settled in Winnipeg, where she spent most of her life and cultivated many lasting friendships. She never missed the opportunity to capture cherished moments in photographs, living life to the fullest, and was forever young at heart. She will be remembered for her cookies and pies, her volunteering at Ecole Robert Browning School - where she was "grandma" to all the students - and her numerous fundraisers. Her inner drive and determination were an inspiration to all the lives she touched and who will sorely miss her. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation of your choice in her memory. I met Jean doing lunch duty at Robert Browning School when both my boys were enrolled in that school along with Antonio, her grandson. We always knew where she was just by looking for her distinctive red hair! We quickly became friends which continued for many years afterwards. Gave her lots of rides here, there, everywhere, as she was a busy woman! She was a lovely person, so quick to smile, say a nice word or two and was kind to all. Always loved her Laura Secord chocolates! I shall truly miss her. My condolences, Pat, to you & your family. - Posted by: Ruth Rogers (friend) on: Jan 28, 2019

I was Jean's home care and thus became her friend. I can hardly believe she is gone. I looked forward to seeing her, chatting, eating cookies or just laughing about something silly. She always told me I couldn't retire. I will miss her dearly. I think of her often, she will always be in my heart. I am so sorry to the family for her loss, we will all miss her. - Posted by: June Trepanier (Friend) on: Jan 21, 2019

Mrs. Hally was a friend to Mom, Effie Rudge, and her friendship extended to us. We will miss her special cards at Christmas and news of the comings and goings of her family. Our sincere condolences to Pat and family. Your mom's sunshine will be missed by so many, us included. Sincerely, Darryl and Donna Rudge - Posted by: Darryl & Donna Rudge (Friend) on: Jan 21, 2019

"Jeannie" was my neighbor across the back lane and first came to know us through my parents, Stan & Pat Schneider, who lived here before me. A quick friendship formed and continued when Dad and Mom passed and I moved into the home. Helping Jeannie with shoveling snow or cutting grass was always received with her big smile, infectious laugh and enjoyable talks during visits. I watched over her home and she watched over mine as well. I will miss our visits and seeing her put her energy into her back gardens. You will be missed. God watch over you and your family and care for you for all eternity. Steve Schneider - Posted by: Steve Schneider (Neighbor) on: Jan 21, 2019

Mrs. Halley was a longstanding friend of my Mom (Pat Etsell) and myself (Sharon). We had many conversations over the years especially since Mom passed away and many lunches at Red Lobster. Jean lived life to the full and had a great sense of humour. I will miss our times together greatly. She was a devout believer and was always thankful for all the prayers said on her behalf. She definitely leaned on her Lord and Saviour. She is now in heaven with her Lord and her family who went before and with my Mom. Sharon Etsell - Posted by: Sharon Etsell (Friend) on: Jan 19, 2019

Sorry for your loss. Jean was a best bud to my Sheila. A great neighbour for 50 + years and a competitor in our tomatoe growing contest. She won every year. She will be missed Bob Everaert - Posted by: Bob Everaert (neighbour) on: Jan 19, 2019
