ERNEST GAUTRON November 9, 1949 - January 10, 2019 It is with heavy hearts that we announce Ernest's passing. After a long journey with cancer he passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family and love. In his last years he enjoyed travelling, going for walks with loved ones, and continued working with his dear clients as long as he could. We lost a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, a loyal brother, and a great friend. The world lost a good man. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Lise Desrochers, his sons, Serge (Karen), Pascal, Alexandre and Ryan Alpers (Emma), and his granddaughters, Lily, Kaya and Dharma. He is also survived by his siblings, Monique, Claudette, Avelin, Omer, Aline and Marcelin. Ernest was predeceased by his parents, Luc and Denise, and his sister Yvonne. The family is grateful for the excellent care and support received from his entire medical team. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Canada Arts Council. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer, date TBD. For online condolences or to light a memorial candle please log on to www.mosaicfunerals.ca

  • I knew Ernest for only a short time. We were in a 10-lesson sketching class together during the Fall of 2018. During that time I was inspired by Ernest's willingness to learn and express his creativity, his smile, sense of humour and laughter, his gentle and encouraging spirit, and his joy and appreciation of life. I felt that he was a person who would be a blessing to everyone he met. My deepest condolences to his family. - Posted by: Jeff Cook (Friend) on: Jan 22, 2019

  • Ernest was a true advocate for artists and the arts. He inspired trust as a financial advisor and accountant and took care of many artists who are confused and frustrated with numbers and finance. He always made a personal connection with his clients and it was a pleasure to run into him at any time. Our acquaintance was ocassional but his impact and impression is lasting. It was obvious that he cared and so do we. We have lost a good man. He truly will be missed. - Posted by: Anthony Steffes (Client and friend) on: Jan 19, 2019

His office was filled with art by local artists and he was always cordial and professional in his conduct with my husband and I. • Lionel Richie said it best... I wanted you for life You and me in the wind I never thought there'd come a time That our story would end It's hard to understand But I guess I'll have to try It's not easy To say goodbye For all the joy we shared All that time we had to spend Now if I had one wish I'd want forever back again To look into your eyes And hold you when you cry It's not easy To say goodbye I can remember all those great times we had There were so many memories some good, some bad Yes and through it all These memories will last Forever There's peace in where you are Maybe all I need to know And if I listen to my heart I'll hear your laughter once more And so I got to say I'm just glad you came my way It's not easy to say Goodbye Goodbye - Posted by: Lise Desrochers (Spouse) on: Jan 19, 2019
