Jim is survived by his three sons, Sean Ryan (Kate) of Edmonton, Alberta, Brennan Ryan (Carina) and Teague Ryan of Vancouver, British Columbia and brothers, Keith and Herb Ryan. He was predeceased by his former wife, Lynne Ryan and sister Margaret Smith.
