  • It is with great sadness that I write this to you Joyce, to you and your children. I only had a few moments in time with Kevin (dancing with him), but he left a lasting impression of laughter and joy. Unfortunately, grief never ends, but changes over time. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is the price we pay for loving someone. I hope that the love you all shared, will help you, and the children, through this difficult time. There will be tears, and I hope laughter, for all the wonderful stories that will be shared. My thoughts and love are with you. • Well this blew my mind to be honest. I was looking for someone else's obituary. Kevin hired me on to do security at St Norbert CC a number of years ago. Some of the best times of my life were spent with Kevin and his dear wife who happened to be their and our security crew. I remember the first time I opted to shut a wedding social down. I thought oh here we go. Kevin's gonna ring me for this one. He asked all of us at the end of the night who made the choice to shut down a social due to the violence in their. I did what any security guy would do. I put my head down and hoped someone else would take the blame lol. Then I said I did. He looked at me and said you made the right call...you thought of people's safety first. I'll always respect his words and him and his wife. I also had the honour of doing security at his wedding social. Go figure I wasn't even invited to the wedding lol. I thank him and his wife for sharing a little bit of life, work and friendship with me. I miss you Kevin and I hope your wife and kids and family are doing good. Bless you. • It's been many years since I've seen Kevin but the news of his passing was one that stopped me in my tracks and took a stab at my heart. He had a way of interacting that made anyone he spoke to feel so special. His smile and sense of humour was so infectious. I'm sending special prayers to him and condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Barb (Allen) Devlin (High School Friend) on: Feb 09, 2019

  • My deepest condolences to the Mackey family. Kevin hired me at Windsor Park Inn and we hit it off right away. His infectious smile lit up the bar in so many ways. Kevin gave me a second chance and I will remember that forever. Kevin made you feel right at home and he always gave me a hug when we saw each other. Thank You Kevin! You will be forever in our hearts! Cheers to you my friend! - Posted by: Phil Franchewski (Friend) on: Feb 07, 2019

  • My condolences to the MacKay family. Kevin was the type of guy you couldn’t argue with because either way if you were right or wrong, he would give you a blank look, followed by hands up in the air, followed by a smile. Then a 7 second brake- dance. Sadly missed Lambego - Posted by: Sean Manby (Friend/ co-worker) on: Feb 06, 2019

  • My sincerest condolences to Kevin's family. Kevin always made his presence felt everywhere he went. Once I got used to that booming voice and his 'filter free' way of things, we were inseparable for a good chunk of the 1980s. Getting to know him only took a few days, but the friendship will last forever. :) We were partners at work and brothers beyond the doors of the Windsor Park Inn. Thanks for the friendship and the amazing memories Lambego. Sean and I (the other 2, of the 3 Lambegos) will certainly have a beer (or more) in your honour. RIP Kev. Say hi to mom for me. Remembering her Christmas punch still makes me smile. - Posted by: Greg Laxdal (Friend/co-worker) on: Feb 05, 2019
