GERALDINE (GERI) SHIPPAM October 24, 1943 - January 30, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geri, our wonderful wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her son Randy; sisters, Donna and Eve, and brother Harold. Geri is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Brian, son Scott (Nancy), daughter-in-law Roberta, and grandchildren, Emily, Carter, Max and Sam. Geri's smile and laughter always greeted anyone who walked through her door. Her house was always a place of gathering for family, friends and strangers. In respecting Geri's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held. A Celebration of Life for Geri will be held in the spring. The family would like to thank the staff at the Buhler Cancer Centre at Victoria Hospital and the staff at 3 South of Grace Hospital for their compassion and care over these many months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buhler Cancer Centre or the Grace Hospital Foundation. Love and Kisses and Misses. • Dearest Brian and family....Derrick and I were heartbroken at the news of Geri's passing. The Bend just will not ever be quite the same without her presence here. Geri had a way of finding joy and laughter in everything. We had not seen a great deal of her this past year or so because she was a tough lady to keep up with...busy, busy, busy having fun all the time. Draw deep on the endless memories you have created. Rest well dear Geri and fly high and free. - Posted by: Derrick and Vera Cardinal (Cottage Friends and neighbors ) on: Feb 10, 2019

I have such great memories of our friendship during the years I lived in Winnipeg which I have never forgotten nor how terrific she and you, Brian, treated my kids, Tracy and Darren. She always found the “funny” in any situation. That is a rare trait. There are no words that can take away your sorrow, but may the memories give you strength to get through all the tomorrows. • Dearest members of the Shippam family and especially Brian, it is with a heavy heart that I convey to you the memorable thoughts that will always stay with me until the end of my time on this earth. The wonderful times spent together playing the most amazing games of cards one can imagine...going skiing, golfing, fishing, endless shopping for things that she rarely ended up buying...laughing/crying, going to the Casino and rarely winning but always having a heck of a good time...holding my hand during my time of need, and this list could go on and on and on.... Geri was always there for you. She was a wonderful, enthusiastic, caring human being that will be missed dearly. We are all fortunate and extremely blessed to have had such a wonderful person in our lives...."God.....Geri....I'm going to miss you!!!!" - Posted by: Henry Putre (Friend) on: Feb 06, 2019

  • Was so sad to read of Geri’s passing. It’s odd, because I was just thinking of her the other day. Lots of fun-filled childhood memories I have of her. She was always so lively, caring and welcoming. And that laugh - like no other! I know what wonderful times were had with my dad, Roy, my mom, Carron, and my Auntie Shirley and Uncle Harold (who remained lifelong friends)! She will always be “Auntie Geri” to me. My deepest condolences to Uncle Brian, Scott and family. Your home on Reynolds Bay was a second home to me throughout my younger life, and I’ll always be grateful for that. May the memories you have carry you through this difficult time. Love Tracy Proutt (Smith) ❤️ - Posted by: Tracy Proutt (Family friend ) on: Feb 02, 2019
