KRISHNA BALLABH SAHAY It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Krishna Ballabh Sahay on February 4, 2019, at his home. His devoted wife of 47 years, Thara, was at his side as always. He is also survived by his son Anand and his daughter Mala and their spouses, as well as by his granddaughter Violet Mae, whom he adored. At the time of his passing, Krishna had planned an adventure to Egypt. Following his tour of the Pyramids, he planned to voyage to Dubai to be with Mala following the expected birth of her first child. Krishna was born on April 2, 1942 in Agra, India and was the fifth of eight children born to his father Anant Prasad and his mother Jagatarini Prasad. His is survived in India by his brother Hira and his sisters, Meera, Manorama, Arti and Manju, and he is predeceased by his brother Bal and his sister Meena. Educated as a Telecommunications Engineer, Krishna immigrated to Canada in 1970 and married Thara on his lunchbreak in 1972. He loved exploring the world and had a penchant for storytelling; those close to him often received email missives written in colourful fonts and signed by "The World Traveler". He regularly gathered with a group of very close friends whom he would regale with his tales. He published countless Letters to the Editor in newspapers across North America in which he expressed his social and political views. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humour and his extensive knowledge of the world in which he lived. We will truly miss his verve, his audacity, his willingness to strike up a conversation with anyone, and his holiday decor. A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date.
