Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Salin was wonderful to our mother as she would do all the driving to go to the Riverside Canucks baseball games. She was also a great fan of the Barons hockey team adding to the infamous stories around the team. In a game in Portage she used her nursing skills to stop the bleeding from the top of my head! With no first aid kit back in the day she improvised and closed the wound by tying some hair together......hey it worked! Glen MacGIllivray - Posted by: Glen MacGillivray (Friend) on: Feb 20, 2019

  • Oh I have such cherished memories of Sain. My Dad (Henry) grew up with Salin. Our family remained close for many years. I have such fond memories of our visits to Baldur with Salin, Tony and my playmates Patsy, Ursula, Leila and Sydney. Salin would help me learn a few Icelandic words here and there. I still recall her laughter when I would jokingly try out my Icelandic years later. I know my Dad thought the world of Salin as we all did. I’m sure they are having a heavenly chuckle or two. Takk fyrir Salin for your patience, great sense of humour and loving kindness. You will be missed and forever loved. - Posted by: Louise (Isford) Horst (Friend) on: Feb 15, 2019
