JAMES (JIM) PINKOS October 11, 1938 - February 19, 2019 Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 80 after a brief illness. He is survived by his true love, and wife of almost 60 years, Joyce, and his three daughters, Teresa (John), Kim and Karen (Bill). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Aaron, Rachel, Derek, Cailey and Alex, a great-grandson DJ, his sister Joan, his brother Gary, many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. He is predeceased by his infant son Timothy, mother Ivy, and father Jack. Jim worked for the City of Winnipeg for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He was a true jack-of-all-trades, yielding the ability to fix almost anything, and if he couldn't fix it, he at least had the part you needed to get the job done. He loved giving his time to family and friends to help with building projects and was happiest puttering in his yard and garden. Most notably, Jim would grow enough pumpkins to supply the family with jack o'lanterns for Halloween. Jim, Joyce, and their entire family spent summers around the family pool, "Pinky's Paradise for Poor People", and every winter found them in rinks across the province, taking in every hockey and ringette game played by his grandchildren. Family was his greatest pride and joy. He is dearly loved, and will be forever missed. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of one's choice. Condolences can be left at seasonsfunerals.ca

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • So sorry to hear about the passing of Jim. Ironically I have bad news too. My husband Don Chambers passed away on Feb 22. I remember Don and Jim swapping stories because they both worked at the same place. So much love and laughter at your place. We will never forget all the good times. Stay strong Joyce and family as we too are trying to be. Love, Shelagh Chambers - Posted by: Shelagh chambers (Friend) on: Feb 24, 2019

  • I knew Jim back when he worked at the intake. He always made me smile. He was a true original; a wonderful man and I know he will be missed. My sincere condolences. Tom Pearson - Posted by: Tom Pearson (co-worker/friend) on: Feb 23, 2019
