Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUBREY LIDDIARD 1918 - 2019 A month after celebrating 101 years, Aubrey said a peaceful goodbye on February 19. He was a first-class dad, a loyal friend, a serious sports fan and a proud Winnipegger. Aubrey's work life was spent in the wholesale paper business and he enjoyed it thoroughly. He lived his life with optimism, kindness and humour. He is survived by his daughter Karen and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Doreen, his parents, Ethel and Charles and his siblings, Joy, Mildred, Wilf, Barney and Bert. Special thanks to Anne Marie Roloff, Joan Wilton and the BK group for their friendship. Also to the caring staff at Grace Hospital. Should friends wish, donations can be made to Rossbrook House or Assiniboine Park Conservancy. As per his request there will be no memorial service. Aub, Mr. Liddiard, was my boss and mentor for so many years. He was an amazing gentleman, a real and most genuine leader and the consumate business professional whom I and all those he worked with, respected so very much. I learned many "things" and life lessons from him including how to treat and care for people. Mr. Liddiard always had a story and an interesting opinion about the topic of the day (which often led to a civil discussion regarding politics :) ) and his incredible wit and humour was unequalled. I will be forever grateful to him for giving me my first real career opportunity as a Branch Manager. He was so supportive and always "had my back". I will miss him dearly and am comforted by the fact that he is at peace with the love of his life, Mrs. Liddiard, and is likely playing a daily game of Scrabble with her. You are gone but not forgotten and will be in my heart forever. God Bless You Sir...until we meet again! Sincerely, Dick - Posted by: Dick Frenz (Worked With Aubrey ) on: Jul 28, 2019

Aubrey was a gentleman with a sense of humour and radiant kindness. I knew him as a child some 60 years ago and I clearly remember how he swiftly and heroically saved the family cocker spaniel "Pudgy" from drowning at Keewatin, MB when the dog slipped off a pier in 1956. At the time Aubrey, Doreen, and Karen resided at 336 Duffield St. in St James. My photo album still has photos dating back to when the Liddiards lived on Kennedy Street in an apartment. Sadly, the fast moving currents of life take us on divergent paths and drift us far apart but that just makes the old memories that much more valuable. My sincere condolences to Karen and other family members who never knew a time when Aubrey wasn't in their lives. - Posted by: Allan Mapes (Friend of the family) on: Apr 02, 2019

Aubrey Liddiard was very helpful to me in my early start up days of the Instant printing business in Manitoba. Aub. and his wife would even take the time to visit with us a our home. I WAS INVITED TO ROAST AUB AT HIS RETIREMENT PARTY BUT ONLY HAD NICE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT A MAN WHO WAS SO KIND TO ME. THANK YOU MY FRIEND. Henry Armstrong. The man who you helped run things in this town. - Posted by: Henry armstrong (business friend) on: Feb 24, 2019

Aub it is sad to see a fine gentleman like you leave us. You always did set the bar high for yourself and others and achieving 101 has to be one that we all would strive for. Maureen and I will always be grateful for your guidance when as youngest back in 59 at Mid West Paper you set an example for us to follow for these many years.
