JOHN EDWARD MYLES SAWATZKY It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of my beloved husband, John Sawatzky, at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Left to mourn his loss are his beloved family: wife Kim, brother Neil (Tammy), brother Russell, aunt Agnes Komarevich of Kelowna, BC, cousin Allan Komarevich of Fernie, BC, sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn and Ted Yorke and Kaye and Gerry McDougal, mother and father-in-law Alistair and Wilma Wark, and his wonderful nieces and nephews; also special friends, Grant Morrison and Nick Thompson. He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Maureen. John was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Transcona. He enjoyed working in a variety of industries from entertainment (Saints Roller Rink), automotive - both cars and motorcycles, his most recent being an owner operator for the last 25 years, which he retired from almost three years ago. John had numerous interests with his favourite being riding motorcycles and travelling. John was a man of integrity, always willing to help friends and business associates. Very special thank you to Dr. S. Banerji, Rose Woloshyn, BN, Dr. Naseer Ahmed, to ALL the nurses who were so kind at CancerCare treatment in Winnipeg and to Courtney in Selkirk CancerCare Centre. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to Winnipeg Humane Society. Condolences, photos and videos may be left on John's tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

I remember riding motorcycles with John many years ago from Transcona, especially dirt bikes. He was always a good guy. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Hugh MCCORMICK (friend many years ago) on: Mar 02, 2019
