JULIUS PAULSON March 5, 1928 - February 23, 2019 Peacefully, after a long struggle with dementia, Julius passed away on February 23, 2019, at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 90. He will be deeply missed by his wife Rosie (nee Samorodny); his sons, Keith, Kerry (Amber) and Kenneth (Laura); grandchildren, Tyler, Phillip, Gray and Andre; sisters, Sigrun King and Sylvia Dern (Jacob); sisters-in-law, Margaret Durrant and Emily Paulson; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends especially close friend Merv Marchenski. He was predeceased by his parents, Gudmundur and Ragnheidur Paulson; brothers, Oskar, Vilberg and Paul; and sister Sigurlin Robinson. Julius was born March 5, 1928 in the Framnes district near Arborg. He moved to Winnipeg in 1976, where he remained for the rest of his life. He spent many years working as a carpenter, mechanic and finally as an instructor at Red River Community College. Julius was an exceptional handyman and always had some project on the go. He was extremely proud of his family, both immediate and extended; as well as the many close friends he made over the years. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Calvary Place Personal Care Home and the Health Sciences Centre for their thoughtfulness, compassion and kindness throughout his stay and during this difficult time. Julius' ashes will be interred in the Arborg Community Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, March 1, 2019.
