Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ROSE GUENTHER (nee DONALD) Margaret Rose Guenther [nee Donald] peacefully passed away March 2, 2019 at Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home with family by her side. Margaret was born October 8, 1932 in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Abraham Guenther, her parents and numerous siblings. Left to carry fond memories of Gram are her daughter Brenda Baschuk and Brenda's two sons, Dale and Mark. Also left is her son Blaine Guenther married to Brenda Adair with their two sons, Jesse and Dylan. There are three great-grandchildren, Emma, Vivienne and Quinn. Eddie, her husband, passed many years back and Marge was faced with the daunting task of raising two teenagers. She spent much time catering social events and constructing awesome wedding cakes. In 1980 Margaret decided to take her life savings and purchase a business. The family ended up buying Nopiming Lodge at Bird Lake. It was a bit of a "roller coaster ride" to say the least. While she was at the lodge, her "magic kitchen" produced countless pies and soups. Needless to say she will be a hard act to follow. She completely enjoyed her life at the lake. Due to health concerns she had to leave the business in April, 2017 and move into care. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nopiming Lodge, Bird Lake. All are welcome to attend. If there are any questions please call 204-884-2402 or preferably e-mail nopiming@nopiminglodge.com The family would like to thank all the support and caring she received at Ironwood Supportive Housing and finally at Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory can be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3. Blaine, Brenda, and boys, nothing I can say can take away the loss or hurt you are feeling right now. My heart aches for you all. I recall the smells of the restaurant from your Mom’s cooking and her presence was always felt even when she wasn’t in the room. I recall her as a Grandma and Mom that loved her grandkids and children- being proud and supportive. Blaine, she was always there for you and has instilled in you many of the great values and business akumen that you have that is part of her that you will always have. I recall her as being a loving pet owner and many a “talks” we would have as I visited her to care for her dog, then cat. The latter part of her life was not what she wanted. May she Rest In Peace with no pain or inabilities and may you realize that she is always with you and part of you. With love, Colleen - Posted by: Colleen O’Morrow (Friend) on: Mar 21, 2019

Dear Blaine, Brenda and family, I am truly sorry to hear that your mom has passed on, so please accept my families' deepest sympathies. Mrs. Guenther always told me to call her Marge but out of respect I just couldn't do it, so it kinda of became our own little thing when ever we had a chance to catch up. She was always so down to earth and kind. Smart, witty and full of all things good. One of a kind for sure. Our family thoughts and prayers go out to Blaine, Brenda, Jesse, Dylan and extended family. We shall miss her deeply, Kelly, Kyle, Noah and Landon Cormack. - Posted by: Kelly Cormack (Friend) on: Mar 17, 2019

Blaine, Brenda, Jesse, Dylan, Brenda, Dale, Mark & extended family, we are thinking of you with deepest sympathy. Marge was a kind person who touched so many lives in the Nopiming community. She was funny, soft spoken and would tell it like she saw it. Her door was always open and she was there to assist people in emergency situations. When I went for my walks she was my 'bear patrol' and would tell me when there was a bear in the area. We will miss her smile, the smell of her baking, her blueberry pies and her delicious home made soup. Thanks for the fond memories Marge.
