MARY STREGGER (VIOLET MARIE ANDERSON)
Born: Feb 28, 1918
Date of Passing: Mar 01, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY STREGGER (nee VIOLET MARIE ANDERSON) February 28, 1918 - March 1, 2019 It is with both sadness and thankfulness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother/Nan/Great-Nan, on Friday, March 1, 2019. Sadness because we will miss her deeply but thankfulness that we were so blessed that she was a part of our lives and the assurance we have that she is now in perfect peace with her Lord and Saviour. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Bengt and Esther Anderson; her husband, John Stregger; and her siblings, Agnes Branvold (Clarence), Arthur Anderson (Edna), Carl Anderson (Mary), Alice Anderson and John Anderson (Winnifred). She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Sylvia (Darol) Clute and Carol (Gerry) Bristow; her grandchildren, Brent Clute, Jason (Marta) Bristow, Bradley (Cindy) Clute and Kristin Bristow (Jeff); and her great- grandchildren, Joshua and Annika Bristow-Onyskiw, and many dear nieces and nephews. Mary was a very loving, gentle and unselfish person. She had a deep and personal faith in God and she modelled this in how she lived her life. She was extremely hard working and very resourceful in order to provide for her girls after the early death of her husband. She was employed as a clerk at Phillip's Store in Estevan, Saskatchewan, and later was employed by Eaton's in Winnipeg until her retirement. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, both for what they accomplished but mostly for who they are and what they stand for. She was eager to participate in their lives but also managed to squeeze in many crafts and baking. We would like to thank all who showed Mom kindness and understanding during her last years as she struggled with dementia. We are grateful for the excellent medical care of Dr. Fuchs, Dr. Barry Campbell, Dr. Demsas, Dr. Shelley Anderson, Dr. Klaponski and Dr. Roksana Sultana, and the other competent and caring staff of Riverview Health Centre. She was blessed by many caring companions - Cindy, Charles, Doris, Eileen, and Lynne, and the prayers of many faithful friends. "Omnipotence has servants everywhere!" In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to either Samaritan's Purse, 20 Hopewell Way N.E., Calgary, AB T3J 5H5 or Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk. Condolences may be left on her tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
