Date of Passing: Mar 01, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHERYL EVELYN BROWN (née DONALDSON) 1950 - 2019 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Cheryl Brown, after a brief illness, on March 1, 2019. Leaving to mourn her passing are her son Reid, daughter Rebecca (Chris), and the center of her universe, her granddaughter, her "poonut", Emerson-Rose. Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Ross, and her brothers, Billy and Scott. Mom was born in Montreal in 1950 and lived in many places in Canada, including Goose Bay, Trenton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as her father was in the Armed Forces. After graduating from St. James Collegiate in 1968, she made Winnipeg her home. Married in 1974, she was a dedicated mom to her children, Becky and Reid. While Mom worked at several jobs throughout the years, she found her "home" at Deer Lodge Centre, beginning in 1991. She worked as a ward clerk and administrative assistant, and spent her final and best years working in the OSI clinic, where she touched the lives of so many clients and co-workers everyday. The family would like to thank Dr. Hamedani and the staff on the 3rd floor of the Grace Hospital for Mom's care in her final days, and their support of her family in this difficult time. Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in a eulogy, photo-tribute, stories, and condolences for the family by visiting Cheryl's memorial page at IntegrityDeathCare.com As per Mom's wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mom's favourite charity, Craig Street Cats. INTEGRITY Cremation & Funeral Planning 204-295-5408 - IntegrityDeathCare.com

There’s nothing I can say that I’m sure you haven’t heard. I’m so very sorry for your loss. She was simply an amazing person. Just her smile was worth going to the OSI clinic for. Her smile brightened my darkest days and she will be greatly missed by many. May God be with you during these difficult times. - Posted by: Kelly Sweetland (OSI) on: Apr 23, 2019

For over two years Cheryl was the first face a person would see when entering the OSI Clinic. She was always cheerful, and knew most people by first name. In short Cheryl was a good person. She was always helpful and she did make a difference in the lives of the people she came in contact with. Cheryl you are missed. - Posted by: Greg Gerbrandt (OSI) on: Mar 27, 2019

My deepest condolences go out to Cheryl's family, friends, colleagues and everyone whose lives she touched. Cheryl was a warm and loving soul who always made a point of getting to know you. I was blessed to have her take such good care of me at the OSI Clinic. In an environment where veterans are struggling, unsure, dealing with traumas, and healing, Cheryl always had a smile and a warm greeting for you. Her warmth and smile will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Anastasia (OSI Clinic) on: Mar 12, 2019

I worked with Cheryl at Deer Lodge Centre during her time assisting the Dept. of Social Work. I never laughed so hard as when Cheryl was around. She had a way of making people feel welcome and her sense of humour was always a bright spot in what could be a stressful day. I am so sorry to hear of Cheryl's passing. I know she was looking forward to retirement and spending more time with family. May the comfort of friends and family bring you comfort during this difficult time, - Posted by: Elaine Campbell (Colleague) on: Mar 09, 2019
