LORNA ALICIA (ALICE) CARANDANG (CRISTOBAL)
Date of Passing: Mar 03, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORNA ALICIA (ALICE) CARANDANG (nee CRISTOBAL) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Friend, Kumare, Mother and Lola, Lorna Alicia Carandang, on March 3, 2019 at the age of 68 at Health Sciences Centre. Alice was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Peter. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Grace (Mike), Kathieleen (Joe) and Russell, her six grandchildren, Khaeler, Mileena, Isabelle, Nathaniel, Kiera and Kaleigh, sisters, Emma and Lily, brother-in-law Max (Cely), sisters-in-law, Rorie (Joey) and Cely (Ariel), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. To know Mom was to know about two things, her connection with her Vita Health family and her home garden. At Vita Health she made numerous lifelong friends and even a few surrogate children over the 30+ years. While small in stature, she was always the hardest worker in the warehouse. She took that hard work ethic and put it into her home garden. You may not know what the address was, but you would always know where the house on Manila Road with the flowers was. She took pride in all her hard work and even won first place in the years she would enter a home garden contest. We invite all family and friends to a viewing which will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. It is at this time we would invite those that would like to share stories with other friends and loved ones. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. also at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street with an interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada in her memory. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.gleneden.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home 204-338-7111

I worked indirectly with Lorna and got to know her better through my friendship with her daughter Grace. She was a hard worker and always had a smiling face. I know she loved her family and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Elisabeth Ostrop (Former co-worker, daughter’s friend) on: Mar 11, 2019
