Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES FRANKLIN SCRIBNER It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Charles on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the age of 67. Charles passed away peacefully at the Betel Personal Care Home in Gimli. He will be remembered and missed by his sisters, Marguerite, Marie, Frances, Jacqueline and Kathleen, brothers-in-law, Walter Einarson, Greg Bodnarchuk and Marc Simard and his many nieces and nephews. His loving parents, Marguerite and Dr. Charles Scribner of Gimli, his sister Donalda and brother-in-law Robert Sveinson predeceased Charles. Charlie was born in Teulon, Manitoba, May 7, 1951. In 1952 the family moved to Gimli where Charlie attended school before he moved on to his post-secondary studies at the Universities of Manitoba (B.A. Hon.), and Queens (Master of Public Administration) in Kingston, Ontario. His profound knowledge of history, politics, religion, music and his enthusiastic support of the Winnipeg Jets made discussions with Charlie always interesting and informative. Charlie loved his family and never seemed to mind being bossed around by his six sisters; he would just smile and give a bit of a chuckle. Beautiful mind, beautiful soul, Trapped by light of day, Trapped and sealed away. Our beautiful mind, our beautiful soul. Be free now Your smile, your laugh forever will stay. Our hearts are heavy, our tears flow, Charlie you will be loved forever more. RIP The family would like to express our gratitude to Dr. R.C. Patel for the kindness and care he gave Charlie over the past years. A heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Betel Home who have been a cheerful, compassionate second family to Charlie. In lieu of flowers, donations, in his honour, may be made to a charity of your choice. Details of the memorial to follow. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
