WALTER REGINALD THOMAS August 10, 1928 - March 7, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reg, surrounded by family at the Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, on March 7, 2019. Reg was born to Walter and Winnifred Thomas of Victoria Beach, MB. He was the eldest of six children. Reg is survived by his wife Cheryl; children, Marie (Roman), Patricia (Fred), Elizabeth, Scott (Cecilia) and Lisa (Daniel); siblings, Shirley, Gail (Don), Leslie and Lynda (Al); seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Reg was predeceased by his parents; first wife Rae; brother Wayne and brother-in-law Raymond. Reg was a man of exemplary integrity, character, kindness and love. Thank you to all the nurses and staff at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home for their loving care of Reg, especially Nurse Jennifer who sang Beatles tunes to him and brought that big beautiful smile to his face despite his difficult illness. A service will be held at Victoria Beach in the spring, a date will be announced in the future. Too well loved to ever be forgotten. Rest in peace my love. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Cheryl and family, Reg was an absolute gem and it was my pleasure and privilege to provide care for him. His laugh and his smile and the side eye he gave me when I sang out of tune will never be forgotten! He is definitely very missed at Meadowood Manor. I'll always think of Reg when I listen to The Beatles. Much love to you all❤️ - Posted by: Jennifer (Nurse/Singing buddy❤️) on: Mar 22, 2019

  • My daughter Sam was the same age as Scott and our son Cody was the same age as Lisa. When the kids moved from Shamrock to Island Lakes school Reg and I were responsible for getting the patrols in place. From that point on we had a wonderful friendship. He cherished his wife and kids and we had such respect for him. His great smile and personality will leave many great memories for everyone who knew him. - Posted by: Marianne Wiebe and family (Friends of Scott and Lisa) on: Mar 20, 2019

  • Although Reg's key is now silent he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Great attitude and lived his life to the fullest. Many good memories of Reg while working in the old Winnipeg dispatching office. A well respected first class railroader. • My husband Ron and I send our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to my beloved sister Cheryl and our nephew Scott and niece Lisa. We shared many family get-togethers and many happy times with Reg. He was a kind-hearted gentleman whose laughter always brought a smile to everyone around him. We admired how much he loved his family and loved to jig to a lively fiddle tune! We were blessed to have him as our brother-in-law. Rest in peace, Reg. - Posted by: Deborah Zelmer (sister-in-law) on: Mar 16, 2019
