ROMAN MASYK January 23, 1939 - March 12, 2019 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Roman, on March 12 at Riverview Health Centre. Predeceased by his beloved wife Christine; his parents, Michael and Anna; his sister Mary, as well as other family members. He is survived by his brother-in-law Morris, his nephew Roman (Leslie), and many nephews and nieces from Christine's side whom he was very close to. He was a letter carrier with Canada Post for 28 years. Roman had a lot of interests from sports, comics and music, with his biggest passion being classic movies. Especially horror and science fiction. His knowledge for movie trivia never ceased to amaze. As per Roman's request, no service will be held. You are invited to attend a come and go celebration of Roman's life on Wednesday, May 8 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue, White Spruce Suite. A huge thank you to the caring staff of 3W Riverview for their compassion. They really made Roman feel special. Also to his nephew Gary who went above and beyond, attending to Roman's needs and wishes. Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice. Roman was my Father's roommate in Riverview for the past year. Dad could not have had a better roommate. Roman and Dad became good friends, laughing, joking, watching ball games and generally enjoying each other the entire time. Roman was a great guy and we always included him in the family gatherings we had at Riverview. He will be missed dearly. R.I.P. - Posted by: Joe Myles (Friend ) on: Mar 18, 2019

Roman was a lovely man and a perfect roommate for my brother-in-law Joe. Roman was always cheerful and extremely kind to all our family. On special occasions my sister Pat brought Roman and Joe candies and treats and Roman always enjoyed them. All our family looked forward to seeing Roman whenever we got up to Riverview to visit Joe and we will all miss Roman. He was a very good friend to Joe, and he will be missed. - Posted by: Grenville Winslow (Friend) on: Mar 18, 2019

Roman was a very kind man who loved to laugh and see others laugh. I will miss Roman's quick wit and his big laughter and his even bigger heart. - Posted by: Tammy (Care Giver) on: Mar 16, 2019
