Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA BUSS (nee PAULISHYN) Another angel is in Heaven as Vera, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and faithful friend, passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg on Friday, March 15, 2019, with family at her side. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, Lorna Diaz, Kathy Onizak and husband Barry, Tammy Buss Nay; her grandchildren, Jason (Annette) Diaz, Kristen Diaz, Michael (Jessica) Onizak, Jeffrey (Melissa) Onizak, Steven Onizak, Kieran Nay, Lisha Nay, Megan Nay and Twyla (Andrew) Hunt; her great-grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Emily and Juliet Diaz and Sadie Dion Diaz; brothers-in-law and wives, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Vera was predeceased by her husband Herbert; son Gerald; parents, Alexander and Anne Paulishyn; sisters and brothers, Mary, Jennie, John, Pat, Helen, Theodore, Julia and Olga; brother-in-law Reinhold Buss; and sisters-in-law Doreen Buss; and Olga Buss. Vera was born on March 21, 1935 in Beausejour, MB. Vera enjoyed her time working at the Beausejour Hospital with her sister Olga and friend Flora. Vera moved to Winnipeg in 1953 with husband Herb. During their 48 years of marriage, Vera was a loving caregiver to her children, grandchildren and anyone who needed care. Her passion was gardening, all would remember her beautiful flower and vegetable garden. Grandma Vera was always the go-to person to care for a sick child, or in need of a ride, or a stop for a coffee and chat. Vera was an active volunteer in the community as a brownie leader, Sunday school superintendent, and active volunteer at her church. The family would like to thank the staff of Riverview 2 West for their special care and support. We were grateful to know Mom was safe and cared for by compassionate people. We are thankful to all who came to spend time with Mom while in hospital and Riverview. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1541 St. Mary's Road, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Cameron Schnarr officiating. Friends may pay their respects from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service. Lunch to follow service with interment at 1:30 p.m. in Green Acres Cemetery (Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road). Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason, Michael, Jeffrey, Steven, Kieran and Andrew. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters Kristen, Twyla, Meghan and Lisha. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beautiful Savior Memorial Fund in Vera's name, or a charity of your choice.
