A service to celebrate John's life will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m., Church of the Ascension, Stonewall, followed by a reception at the Heritage Arts Centre Auditorium. John and Pat were our good neighbours for 8 years in Stonewall. John was a helpful neighbour. I was away for work one spring and our basement was flooding from spring melt. Janice was outside shovelling the melting snow away from the basement window where the melt was running in. John noticed and lent a hand unsolicited. During our outdoor interactions, John was graciously willing to share experience advice on yard and home maintenance issues, always I reluctant to help when sensed. A humble and accomplished neighbour, John was respected and appreciated by Janice and I.
