Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRAZIELLA (GRAZIA) MUSTO (DE PALMA) June 21, 1929 - March 16, 2019 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Grazia Musto, on March 16, 2019. She passed away peacefully, at the Charleswood Care Centre, at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Raimondo, who passed away in 2012. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Dino (Cathy), Josie (Rick) Hirschkorn, Julio, Ricardo, Frank, Tony and Anna (Jason) Kroetsch, 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was born in Pratola di Serra, Italy on June 21, 1929. She married the love of her life, Raimondo, on March 13, 1949. They immigrated to Canada in 1960 and settled into their beloved home on Austin Street. She worked several different jobs around Dad's work schedule so one of them could always be home with the kids. Then in 1977, she was able to stop working to be a stay at home mom and focus on what she loved the most, spending time with her family, cooking and tending to her garden. Our mother was incredibly kind, supportive and generous; not only to her family but to everyone she encountered. She provided us with copious amounts of food, laughter and endless love. We will forever hold on tight to our most precious memories of her and remember her strength, especially during the most difficult of times. We take comfort knowing that she has been reunited with our Dad and she is finally at peace without any pain. Condolences/viewing will be held Friday, March 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. After Mass, everyone is invited to a luncheon at the church with interment to follow at the Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Nick Giancola, Raymond Musto, Dino Musto, Anthony Musto, Chris Musto and Julian Musto. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. I want to express my most sincere and deepest condolences. My mom who was Raymondo's sister would tell me happy stories of their past when I was a baby in Italy. She spent many happy hours talking to Zia on the phone...I regret that I never had the opportunity to meet my Mom's sister-in-law and dearest friend. My family immigrated to Canada in 1975 and soon after moved into a house on Austin Sreet next to the Mustos. I have so many kind memories of Mrs. Musto! She was warm and generous! She was always shoving food in my mouth, quite literally, she’d say here “try this”! Sometimes it was a banana pepper, sometimes a lady finger cookie. I think she worried about me because I was “too skinny, too skinny!” Of course I loved it and I loved her! She was like a second mom to me! She even babysat me after school when I was 5 and 6. We moved from the neighborhood when I was 15, but always remained close with the family. Any time I came by she greeted me with hugs and kisses and said “my other daughter!” I grieve with the family now and send my love at this difficult time. - Posted by: Naomi Swan-Lake (Family friend ) on: Mar 20, 2019
