HELEN BAKER After a brief illness, Helen passed away on March 3, 2019 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, parents, John and Helen Stobbie, brother John, sister Mary, and granddaughter Melanie. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Andy), son Billy, grandchildren, Jillian, Ryan, Sara, Emma and William, and great-grandson Tristan. She is also survived by her brother James (Susan), sisters, Sadie (Phil) and Renee (Brian), sister-in-law Joan, nephew Greg, as well as many nieces and nephews and other family in Scotland. Helen was born in Glasgow, Scotland December 1, 1932. She married Bill Baker March 17, 1955 and they were a match made in heaven until his passing in 1998. Helen came to Canada with her family in December 1972. A hard worker all her life, she worked at Eatons and then Wawanesa Insurance until her retirement in 1997. In retirement she enjoyed bingo with her friends at Kenbur Gardens, travelling with her friend Jean and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her time knitting for friends, family and charities. Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of Ward 5 at the Misericordia Health Centre for the wonderful care that they gave Helen. A come and go reception will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the club room at Kenbur Gardens, 329 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg.
