EUGENIE HINTZ Eugenie Hintz (nee Steinbrenner) passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 15, 2019, at the age of 84, at Kildonan Personal Care Home, with her dear friend Helga by her side. She was a quiet person with a quiet voice and a big loving heart. She made friends easily, and was very generous, humorous and forgiving. She loved her family fiercely, which we all experienced through her intense bear hugs, and was very involved and supportive in the lives of her family. She is predeceased by her husband Otto, her daughter Rosemarie (Rosi), and brother Edwin. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Sophie; niece Monika (Heinz-Dieter); grandchildren, Melanie, Susanne and Daniel (Nina); five great-grandchildren; her niece's children, Markus and Nils; her niece's five grandchildren, and by her husband's family in Winnipeg and BC. The funeral for Genie will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., viewing at 12:00 p.m., at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. The family thanks Jerry and Helga Roehr for all their help, care and the visits they lovingly shared with Genie over the last five years. The family would also like to thank the staff at Lions Manor and the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home for their compassion and the loving care they all provided to Genie in her later years.
