NADIA MARIE RUPERT (nee DOBINSKY) 1939 - 2019 As a proud family we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandma and nanny, Nadia Marie, on March 20, 2019, after a short battle with cancer. Mother's wish was to pass at home surrounded by her family with love and support. Surviving are her sons, Jeff, and Gord; daughter Diane; grandaughter Breanne; ex-husband and friend, Jack; sisters, Gloria, and Vera; brother Orest, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Elsie. With her second family she was known as the warden in the house, as she raised 58 foster sons. Then she became nanny with many foster grandchildren and foster great-grandchildren. She loved watching her sports and loved her Jets. She was chosen as a hometown hockey hero by the Winnipeg Jets. She was also a big fan of the Blue Bombers, curling and baseball. She worked as the chief switchboard operator at Sears for over 25 years and retired in 2000. The pride in her life was her granddaughter Breanne. Mom was so loving, kind, sweet, generous, giving and was special to many others touched by her heart. Thank you to the palliative care program for guidance and support. Thank you to all the homecare and respite workers who cared for mom and a special thank you to son Jeff who looked after mom for many years. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be planned for July. Mom the rock said; "I don't want no tears. Just be strong. Go out there and do what you have to do. I'll be watching over you. Have a celebration with the spirit in the sky. I love you all" NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
