WILMA SYLVESTER
(nee JEFFREYS)
Wilma was born in Winnipeg on February 3, 1928, to Matilda and Richard Jeffreys. She was one of four Jeffreys girls and loved talking about their life in the West End.
Wilma married William Maurice (Moe) Sylvester in 1946. They were married for 50 years and moved almost every year they were together. She went to Wellington School, General Wolf, John M. King and Daniel Mac. She worked for a short time at Western Weather Seal where she made a lifelong friend. Wilma enjoyed her 17 years as an accountant at Donaldson's Shoes on Portage Avenue. She loved to tell stories about her adventures at Winnipeg Beach and she had a fantastic memory of Winnipeg history. Her favourite pastimes were reading and watching the Toronto Blue Jays.
She was predeceased by her husband Moe; parents, Matilda and Richard; siblings, Isabel, Lorna, Jennett; her stepfather Fred Dunning, as well as brothers-in-law and many family members. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, sister-in-law and longtime friends.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Siloam Mission.
"When family ties are broken
and loved ones have to part,
it leaves a wound that never heals
and also a broken heart.
We hold you close within our hearts
and there you will remain
to walk with us throughout our lives
until we meet again."

My Condolences to all of Aunty Wilma's family. So sad to hear of her passing. I have many great memories of times at the beach with Aunty Wilma and Uncle Moe. They were some of the best times of my childhood. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Lesley Poole Sylvester (Niece) on: Apr 06, 2019
