ANTHONY (TONY) CERQUEIRA SOUSA
August 2, 1967 - April 3, 2019
Tony will be forever remembered by his loving wife, of 24 years of marriage, Megan; and their children, Seth, Kira and Ewan. He is also survived by his father Jose and siblings, Albert (Sheena), Liz (Charlie) and John (Trish); mother-in-law Verna Nichols; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Cindy) and Joel (Brenda); sister-in-law Gloria (Richard), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews, aunts, cousins, and close friends.
He was predeceased by his mother Palmira and father-in-law Harvey Nichols.
At the heart of Tony's life was the home he established with Megan and their kids; together they created a gathering place where everyone was welcome and fun was paramount. Tony had an inquisitive mind and an undying thirst for knowledge that folded into all facets of his life, including a 30 year career at Boeing Canada. He enjoyed working with computers and technology and was an amazing resource. Physical activity and fitness were always important to Tony; in addition to a rigorous workout schedule, he spent many years doing karate and was an avid curler with the Old Crocks. His sense of adventure led him and his family on countless vacations, fishing, and camping trips. Tony was incredibly kind and people gravitated toward him because of it. Despite a busy schedule, he was generous with his time, helping anyone in need.
The family extends their appreciation to ICU staff at Grace and St. Boniface Hospitals.
A public viewing will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.

Megan and family. Padraig informed us the other night of Tony’s passing. I fondly recall Tony back to Seth’s and Padraig’s early school years and volunteering together. He was just an amazing man and such a pleasure to have known. God bless your entire family especially during this tremendous loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Sheona and Dwayne Miller and family (Kids school friends ) on: Apr 06, 2019

This describe Tony we knew and loved. Our hearts hurt at thought of not ever seeing his unruly hair and mischievous smile; getting asked another question, and one more, his funny sarcastic comments... and my kindred spirit - his desk was as messy as mine, and that’s not an easy feat to accomplish. Rest In Peace my friend, you will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Tatjana Draskovic (Coworker) on: Apr 06, 2019

To Megan, Seth, Kira and Ewan. I don't even know where to begin. I met Tony over 20 years ago at Richard's 40th birthday party. He still had a ponytail back then. I always found him sociable and outgoing. Always calm under pressure and enjoyed a good laugh. I had the opportunity to curl with him over the last 7 years with the Old crocks where we won the grand aggregate together last season. He was always a competitor. A measure of a man's character is always found in the behaviour of his children. To Seth, Kira and Ewan, you all know the value of friendship, hard work and family and you can thank your Dad for that. To Megan, you raised a great family who will be there for you. It's numbing that Tony left us all too soon. From the bottom of our hearts, we send you love and compassion and our deepest condolences. Tony will be missed.
